BIRTH MOM PANEL
Presented by:
Talk About Adoption™
DURING THE PANEL

The Panel consisted of four birth moms, and the Host of the Birth Mom Panel, Gerrianne Waring, a Birth Mom Mentor through Talk About Adoption™, as well as a birth mom of twenty-nine years. People were able to hear each birth mom's different adoption story, their perspectives of adoption, and leave with a better understanding of how to approach the option of adoption for men and women who are facing unintended pregnancies.

Most importantly, we want people to be engaged and to ask questions during these Panels when prompted to do so. Here are a list of questions that are commonly asked during these Panels:

What support did you receive before placement (i.e. Counseling services, support from family or friends)?

How do you make the relationship with the adoptive parents and your birth child work successfully?
How would you say your relationship is with your birth child?
How is your relationship with the adoptive parents?
How open is your adoption plan?
How often do you see your birth child?
Was the birth father involved in your decision of adoption? If so, is he still involved?
What was the hardest part of the adoption process?

*The above information does not concern state-initiated adoptions in child neglect, dependency, or abuse cases.
